IT Internship at Mental Health Foundation Australia

As part of my Work Integrated Learning program at Deakin University, I completed a three-month internship with the Mental Health Foundation Australia. During this time, I contributed to an exciting project: developing an AI-powered mental health voice assistance chatbot. This experience allowed me to apply my technical skills in a real-world setting, collaborate with a professional team, and gain valuable insights into using technology to support mental health initiatives. It was a rewarding opportunity that strengthened both my expertise and my passion for creating impactful digital solutions.


Diploma of Science in Computing/IT

Before pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I earned a Diploma of Science in Computing/IT from Edith Cowan University. This foundational program equipped me with essential technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, setting the stage for my career in technology. My dedication and academic achievements were recognized with a prestigious STEM scholarship, which supported my transition to Deakin University to complete my bachelor’s degree. SLIIT Codefest 2017 – Designathon Junior

While in school, I had the privilege of participating in SLIIT Codefest 2017, an island-wide competition that brought together young innovators from across the country. As part of a talented team, we emerged as winners in the school category, Designathon Junior. This achievement was a testament to our creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, and it inspired me to pursue technology-driven solutions and innovation from an early age.


Early Education and Foundation in ICT

My journey in technology began during my time at De Mazenod College, where I completed my primary and secondary education. During my G.C.E. Ordinary Levels and Advanced Levels, I chose ICT as a subject, laying the groundwork for my passion for computing and problem-solving. These formative years were pivotal in sparking my interest in technology and shaping my aspirations for a career in the IT field.
