Hi, I’m Brian Caldera, an Information Technology graduate specializing in the bridge between complex technical systems and business strategy. While I enjoy bringing ideas to life through code, my true passion lies in Enterprise, Solution, and System Architecture designing the blueprints that allow technology to scale and solve real-world organizational challenges.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Information Technology from Deakin University, I have shifted my focus toward the “big picture.” I look beyond individual applications to understand how Information Architecture and Enterprise Software integrate to create seamless, impactful digital ecosystems.
Why I do what I do:
Architectural Thinking: I enjoy deconstructing complex problems to design solutions that are both practical and strategically aligned.
Continuous Evolution: I am a dedicated learner, constantly exploring new methodologies in system design to ensure I’m delivering modern, future-proof IT solutions.
Collaborative Impact: I believe the best architecture is built on collaboration. I thrive in environments where I can work with teams to bridge the gap between technical development and organizational goals.
I am currently seeking entry-level roles where I can apply my expertise in Solution Architecture and contribute to the success of enterprise-level projects.

Mobile Application Developer Internship at Focus Bear | Productivity and routine app for AuDHDers
During my 13-week internship at Focus Bear, I contributed to the development of a cross-platform mobile productivity application. I gained hands-on experience in React Native and Android development, working on both feature implementation and bug fixes. My responsibilities included developing new features such as notification systems, AI-powered task generation, and password protection mechanisms. I also participated in code reviews, addressed technical documentation gaps, and collaborated with the backend team to resolve integration issues. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in mobile app development, state management, API integration, and debugging complex mobile applications.

Australian Computer Society (ACS) IT Professional Year | 2025-2026
The Professional Year Program is a structured professional development initiative designed for international graduates in Australia, primarily in the fields of Information Technology and Engineering. The program combines practical training, workplace preparation, and an internship placement to help graduates gain industry-relevant experience and understand Australian workplace culture. It aims to enhance employability by developing both technical and soft skills, offering valuable insights into job application processes, professional communication, and teamwork within an Australian business environment.

Graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology
In 2024, I achieved a significant milestone by graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Information Technology, specializing in Application Development. This accomplishment represents years of dedication, learning, and growth, equipping me with a strong foundation in software development, problem-solving, and modern technologies. It’s a moment that marks the beginning of my professional journey, and I’m excited to bring my skills to impactful projects and teams.

University IT Capstone Project at Thoth Tech – Web Application Developer
During my six-month internship at Thoth Tech, I had the unique opportunity to evolve from a technical contributor to a leadership role. Initially joining as a Frontend Developer, I contributed to the development of ‘OnTrack,’ an innovative Learning Management System. I utilized Angular, Tailwind CSS, and Ruby on Rails to implement front-end migrations that enhanced system performance and usability. Following this, I stepped into a Student Mentor position, where I assisted new capstone students with onboarding and conducted weekly meetings to facilitate smooth collaboration. This dual experience not only sharpened my full-stack development skills but also developed my ability to lead teams and mentor peers in a professional environment.

UI/UX Designer Internship at Mental Health Foundation Australia
As part of my Work Integrated Learning program at Deakin University, I completed a three-month internship with the Mental Health Foundation Australia. During this time, I contributed to an exciting project: developing an AI-powered mental health voice assistance chatbot. This experience allowed me to apply my technical skills in a real-world setting, collaborate with a professional team, and gain valuable insights into using technology to support mental health initiatives. It was a rewarding opportunity that strengthened both my expertise and my passion for creating impactful digital solutions.

Diploma of Science in Computing/IT
Before pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I earned a Diploma of Science in Computing/IT from Edith Cowan University. This foundational program equipped me with essential technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, setting the stage for my career in technology. My dedication and academic achievements were recognized with a prestigious STEM scholarship, which supported my transition to Deakin University to complete my bachelor’s degree. This milestone reflects my commitment to excellence and my passion for continuous learning in the IT field.

SLIIT Codefest 2017 – Designathon Junior
While in school, I had the privilege of participating in SLIIT Codefest 2017, an island-wide competition that brought together young innovators from across the country. As part of a talented team, we emerged as winners in the school category, Designathon Junior. This achievement was a testament to our creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, and it inspired me to pursue technology-driven solutions and innovation from an early age.

Early Education and Foundation in ICT
My journey in technology began during my time at De Mazenod College, where I completed my primary and secondary education. During my G.C.E. Ordinary Levels and Advanced Levels, I chose ICT as a subject, laying the groundwork for my passion for computing and problem-solving. These formative years were pivotal in sparking my interest in technology and shaping my aspirations for a career in the IT field.
